MY STORY

Jennifer Courtney-Cowan is a qualified counsellor and funeral celebrant. In the past decade Jenny has been working in the community health sector as a case manager/counsellor. Jenny strongly connects with animals, particularly household pets such as dogs and cats. As a pet owner, Jenny understands how important the relationship is between owner and pet, and how challenging it can be when things go wrong.

With her firm belief in the strength of the bond between animal and human, she understands how important it is to get the right sort of support when a pet becomes seriously ill or passes. Feelings of overwhelm, confusion, grief and loss can be devastating and debilitating. Having experienced this type of loss personally as well as supporting friends and relatives who have been through such experiences, Jenny decided to follow a pathway towards helping support others through their journey. Thus she launched Good Grief - Counselling Service, for pet lovers in need of a helping hand.

Having to decide whether or not to put your animal through a serious operation, whether to have your animal euthanized or losing your pet through death are all critical times when you need empathy, experience and expertise

Jenny is here to guide you through your situation, offering counselling or assisting in creating a special farewell for your pet. She is personable, down-to-earth, open, and understanding, and welcomes an obligation-free conversation to explore how she can assist you.

Qualifications include:
- Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy
- Diploma of Counselling
- Diploma of Management
- Certification as a Funeral Celebrant
